S901
Yellow Brass
One-Piece Body and Keywork,
Gold  lacquered, Engraved

Yanagisawa consider this soprano to be a true professional horn. It is made of brass, engraved and and offered in a clear lacquer finish. This soprano has terrific intonation and power. The secret?  It uses the same body, tone hole geometry and metallurgy as the S991. Very affordable for such a good sax..

S902
Solid Bronze One-Piece Body,
 Yellow Brass Keywork,
Clear lacquered, Engraved

This saxophone shares every construction detail with the S901 except for the fact that the neck, body, bow and engraved bell are made of bronze with a clear lacquer coat to protect it. This metal imparts a sound with greater emphasis on the fundamental and is for those who value the unique dark sound and deeper coloration only a bronze instrument provides.

S991
Yellow Brass, 2 Necks
Gold  lacquered, Engraved

The S991 has several significant enhancements over the S901.
1) High G key
2) 2 removable necks -- one straight and one curved -- both with the over / under neck key mechanism keeps this fragile part well protected.
3) Ribbed body. These reinforcements under the keywork posts help maintain key and rod alignment.
4) Improved low C#-B seesaw mechanism facilitates this transition.
5) Gold-plated thumb hook and rest resists corrosion and abrasion.

S992
Solid Bronze Body and 2 Necks
 Yellow Brass Keywork,
Clear lacquered, Engraved

This saxophone shares every construction detail with the S991 except for the fact that the necks and body are made of bronze with engraving and a clear lacquer coat to protect it. This metal imparts a sound with greater emphasis on the fundamental and is for those who value the unique dark sound and deeper coloration only a bronze instrument provides.

S992PG
Solid Bronze Body and 2 Necks
 Yellow Brass Keywork,
All PINK GOLD-PLATED
Elaborately Engraved

A spectacular horn, similar in sound to the R&C R1 Jazz Gold-plated but with a somewhat brighter sound due to its smaller  bore geometry. Pink gold plated and no lacquer to absorb harmonics. A little brighter and more complex sounding than the S992. Very elaborate engraving.

S9930
Solid Sterling Silver,
2 Necks and Body,
Clear Lacquered, Engraved

This saxophone shares every construction detail with the S991 except for the fact that the necks and body are made of Solid 95% Pure Silver with engraving and a clear lacquer coat to protect it. This metal imparts a sweeter, velvety sound unique to silver horns. There is a reason why great flautists play solid silver flutes and this soprano benefits from the unique effect silver imparts on high harmonics.
